Description
The renowned Japanese writer famed manga creator and new Uncanny X-Men artist Kia Asamiya does a great job depicting Batman in a story that transcends continents as well as reality. There is a drug on the streets of Gotham that will make your dreams come true for a short period of time. A drug that physically alters the user and allows him to physically transform into an incarnation of whoever the user desires... before they die melting down into mummified corpses!. The story starts off with an excellent depiction of Two-Face blowing people away in a office hostage situation. Batman shows up and everything gets weird as Two-Face spontaniously burns up in flames. The hunt for the drug and its manufacturer takes Batman through Gotham City all the way to Tokyo. Along the way Batman confronts multiple villains but never really knowing if his enemies are chemically induced fakes or the real originals! Child Of Dreams: is far more than just another Batman story; it represents an iconic figure that transcends the traditional confines of comic-book genre to find a non-traditional storyline from a distinctly different cultural perspective! Originally presented over a year-long span in the pages of Kodansha's Magazine Z CHILD OF DREAMS has been painstakingly adapted by acclaimed mystery novelist Max Allan Collins (ROAD TO PERDITION BATMAN). format: A Mammoth 338 pages Soft Cover Graphic Novel/Trade Paperback Black and White English Adaptation: Max Allen Collins Writer: Kia Asamiya Art and Painted Cover: Kia Asamiya Letterer: Dan Nakrosis Editor: Andy Helfer Published: February 2003
