One of these men is the world's greatest detective waging a relentless war on crime in Gotham City. The other is a soldier a black-ops killer willing to do whatever it takes to complete his mission. One holds life sacred above all else while the other wouldn't hesitate to take a life if the job called for it. So what happens when these two enigmas cross paths' We'll never know... because one of them has been dead for ten years. On the trail of a dangerous pyrokinetic the Dark Knight pieces together a web of intrigue and murder that spans an entire decade. The key to it all is a government killer Michael Cray code-named Deathblow. Brian Azzarello writes 100 BULLETS a dark gritty story of conspiracy deception and manipulation where nothing is what it seems. It's a civil war between powerful parties each steeped in their own greed and self interests. This is what Azzarello brings into the creation of DEATHBLOW. With several twists in plot and story line that spans 10 years. This story is soo twisted and can pretty confusing but it's well worth it. There are so many primaries in play here: You got Scott Floyd a black ops agent from ten years ago known as The Falcon 2) a terrorist of Gamorra who hasn't been seen in 10 years... and 3) a highly volatile pyrokinetic firestarter known as Max Kai. These mooks are involved in a botched hit and now find themselves in Gotham where Floyd is a close friend of Bruce Wayne. Have I lost you yet When Floyd receives 3rd degree burns over 90% of his body (he's toast) it looks like a personal hit was placed on Bruce. Bruce has a lead a severed and burnt hand clutching the trademark Death Card of a man who is himself supposed to be dead: Deathblow. Who the hell is really working for whom and what the hell is happening If you're looking for an easy simple one dimensional cartoony read this book is not for you. But if you want intrigue and a thick story that smacks of what Batman is supposed to be about then buy this book now. Ignore the Frank Miller/Todd McFarlane Spawn/Batman book it sucked. This one is far better with nothing but grit and fists and severed burnt hands. It's freakishly awesome! I highly suggest this book
